Scheduling Your Initial VisitAnd How To Prepare

Congratulations! After thoughtful questioning and information gathering you've decided that we are the right practice for you. Please click contact us and set up your initial visit and .

Remember to wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointment or bring clothing with you that you can change into. Please if you can, try not to wear make-up or brush your tongue before you come in for your appointment. The face and tongue are important pictures, that need to be free from masking, telling practitioners about things going on inside the body. Also make sure you've had something to eat before your visit to make sure you're not hungry and your blood sugar is not low.

Your Initial Visit
(please arrive 15min. early if you need to fill out paper work).

Upon arriving at our office for your initial visit you will be greeted and asked for your new patient forms or if you do not have them you will be asked to fill them out.

While visiting with your practitioner you will be asked questions of your general medical history as well as questions that pertain to your specific health concern. Some of the questions may seem unusual but they are relevant to your health concern from a holistic viewpoint. While talking about your medical history, your vitals will be taken to establish a baseline just like in your other medical doctor's office. Your practitioner will also be using tongue and pulse diagnosis among other diagnostic tools to gather information about what organ system imbalances are present in your body.

After careful evaluation and establishment of a comprehensive diagnosis, your practitioner will go over his or her findings with you and discuss the next necessary step of action. If acupuncture and other Chinese medical modalities are prescribed, they are typically administered after the consultation can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an 1 hour.
You should expect to allow for about 2 hours of time for your initial visit with your traditional Chinese medical practitioner.

Discussion about herbal formulas, dietary changes and exercise / movement therapies will be discussed after your acupuncture treatment.Once done with that your practitioner will discuss when follow up treatments should be scheduled and any other necessary information will be provided to you.

Follow - Up Visits
When returning for follow-up visits with your practitioner you should expect to allow about 1 hour of time for your appointment. You and your practitioner will discuss progress of your health concern and any new information or symptoms that have arisen since your last visit.

Generally, follow-up visits are less discussion-heavy and revolve around checking and updating your diagnosis with tongue, pulse and other diagnostic tools then making changes to your treatment plan if necessary.

Adjustments to herbal formulas and other dietary recommendations will be done after your treatment.
