Acupuncture and Pregnancy
You're Pregnant, Congratulations!
This is one of the most exciting, amazing and let's be honest, downright strangest times in your life. Pregnancy is full of a myriad of experiences with all of the physical and hormonal changes occurring within your body to the sensations felt when your baby kicks or turns over in your belly.
But for many women, the changes (morning sickness, back pain, fatigue, etc) that are deemed "normal" or "routine" part of pregnancy by many medical practitioners are just plain uncomfortable and even sometimes unbearable to you, right?
That's why I wanted to talk to you today about acupuncture for your pregnancy. As well as what to expect in the coming months.
Acupuncture is a safe, natural, and effective way for you to find relief from the ailments mentioned above and many other conditions associated with pregnancy and postpartum, especially since many western drugs can't be used during pregnancy.
Acupuncture helps to create a strong foundation for mother and baby to thrive during pregnancy and after delivery. Studies from Europe have shown that women who receive acupuncture treatments during pregnancy often times have an easier and quicker labor than those women who do not receive acupuncture. That is to say if you receive regular acupuncture treatments once a week during your pregnancy you set yourself up to have an easier and quicker delivery.

It is extremely important that you take care of yourself after your pregnancy as well as you did during. What you've just gone through has put a tremendous toll on your body. Had you been alive 100 years ago you'd have the time to allow yourself to rest and relax on your own schedule. Nowadays with everything being so fast-paced and possibly needing to head back to the workforce prematurely you don't have that luxury. If you don't allow your body to regain it's full health and vitality after pregnancy you can cause yourself to experience more health concerns down the road. This is why acupuncture after your pregnancy is so vital to your recovery.
