My Story
Eric A. Carlisle L.Ac.
Founder/Co-Owner of FLOW Acupuncture
& Herbs
I started FLOW because I have always felt that it is my purpose in this life to serve and assist my fellow man. I wish to raise the level of awareness and guide my clients towards what true health and wellness is. With FLOW I feel that I can achieve these goals.
My path to healing started way back when I was 10 years old studying Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. Danzan is a system that teaches not only perfection of character and physical self-defense but also the care of the body-mind connection and healthy living. I didn't know it then but what I was being taught would shape and guide my life to where I am today.
After studying art and philosophy in college and training and experiencing for the last 12 years what Danzan Ryu had to offer me, I felt it was time to expand upon what I had learned. I had always had a side hobby of learning all I could about health and the human body and it wasn't until a friend of mine showed me a pamphlet about traditional Chinese medicine and education that I even thought about health as a career.
I soaked up everything that the founder of the school had to say about being a "superior doctor" "a clear conduit for energy to flow through" and "learning with an open heart." I mulled over all of this and my plans to switch majors/my new path. In the Fall of 2004 I enrolled at Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine where, over the next 4 1/2 years rigorous academic and clinical training, I obtained my Masters Degree in TCM. I then became a Licensed Acupuncturist after completion of my California State Board Exam in February of 2009.
Today I live in Manhattan Beach with my beautiful wife and daughter. I want to thank you for taking the time to listen to my story and to learn a bit more about me. I am here to help you.
Aloha,
